Inlays and onlays are often referred to as partial crowns because they use your existing tooth as a base to strengthen your tooth, restore its shape or prevent further damage. Inlays are used when there is only minimum damage to your tooth, whereas onlays are used where there might be more extensive structural problems.
Inlays and onlays are completed just like a normal crown, and requires just two weeks on average from start to finish.
